Fatima Al-Bayouk, 8, was the sole survivor of her family after an Israeli airstrike targeted their home in late 2023.
She survived alone, only to be killed by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire south of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.
Her killing raises urgent questions about the protection of children under international law, which requires civilians, especially children, to be protected.
